Mascot
A caricature of the gull, the official bird of the county, is the official mascot of Ongjin-gun. This mascot was created as part of the new image-making strategy to raise awareness of the status of Ongjin-gun as having enormous growth potential based on its rich natural resources and as an international ocean resort city.
The mascot symbolizes the friendly and cheerful image that Ongjin-gun hopes to show the world. This mascot is displayed in scenic spots and famous mountains for the promotion of Ongjin-gun. The name of the mascot originated from ‘Ongjin’. Ongi means male character and Jini means female character.
