How to get there
Please head toward the direction of Dangjin and Ansan on the West Coast Highway, and then pass through Wolgot IC, Ahnsan IC and Sihwa Seawall to reach Seonjae-do and Youngheungdo after Daebu-do. There is a bus departing from Ongjin County Office, Yonghyun-dong, Incheon and passing through Seonjaedo and Youngheung-do. This bus (Contact Shinbaekseung Tour Agency : 032-886-4747) runs 13 times a day and you can reserve them for sightseeing (for 25 persons or more)

Areas of Simnipo is a place that a camp for information collection of Battle of Incheon in Korean War. It was an important place for succeed of Battle of Incheon on September 15, 1950. Korean Youth Defense which had consisted of Yeongheung Island residents has participated in the battle. In the term of battle on September 13th, Youth Defense soldiers have achieved a big role to defeat a battalion of North Korea under 703 Force. Navy Battle Monument has been erected in order to mark fallen soldiers of Yeongheung areas and 14 fallen soldiers of Korean Youth Defense by the battle.

In order to unify residents for building a well-being fishing village, it has been held around Jeongwol Daeboreum Fire Festival each year. Mountaintop Guksa : Im-do stretches itself from the Simnipo beach to Janggyeong-ri through the Mountaintop Guksa. You can enjoy activities like mountain climbing, biking, or you can just take a walk, which is good practice in maintaining your health. Mountaintop Yangno : It is located at the back of Yeongheung Heating Power Station. The way to the summit is consisted of gentle slope so you can enjoy light hiking (It takes about an hour). In sunny weather, you can see Jawol Island, Seungbong Island, Yeongjong Island, and Silmi Island.

It is a 1,250-meter long, 9.5-meter wide bridge with two-way lanes linking Yeongheung-do and Seonjae-do, and is Korea’s first cable-stayed bridge on the sea.
