It takes around 60 minutes from the passenger terminal of Incheon International Port with highspeed ferries that run twice a day, and cost KRW 18,400. If you use a Daebu car ferry service (able to transport your vehicle) at the Bangahmeori quay of Daebudo, it takes about two hours and KRW 11,000. Off-peak seasons, the ferry runs one to two times a day, but during peak seasons, it runs two to three times a day.

Jawol Island
Keunmal Beach
The 100 meter long, 40 meter wide Keunmal Beach is packed with golden sand. When water recedes, you can catch short-necked clams, octopus and turban shells on the tidal land which serves as a good nature-learning place.
Janggol Beach
Janggol Beach is a natural beach located in southern part of ocean which is 1km away from a dock. It is a perfect resort for summer. By having the beach with soft sand in 1km of length and 400m of width on a gentle slope and small park at the entrance of beach, there are convenient facilities that summer visitors can take a rest.
Guksabong (Mountaintop)
Guksa-bong, the highest mountain in Jawol-do, has an altitude of 165m above the sea and its hike road is well developed so that you can walk along the mountain easily. Hiking on the deserted trail will give you the view of the Incheon port on your back and the sight of Deokjeok-do, Daeejak-do, Soeejak-do and Seungbong-do on the front. Seonnyeoppuri has five round stones weighing hundreds kilograms. People call these “Witch’s Jackstones.”
Legend has it that a powerful witch played jackstones with them.
Meoktung-do Gulls Island
It is an island located north-west side of Jawol-do. It had been called Meoktongdo because old carpenters thought the shape look like a meoktong (an ink pad in Korean) but it is called Muktung-do now. Currently, there are old and crumbled lighthouses. A lot of sea gulls have been living in the island.
Dokbawi
It is located in Jawol-ri which has an island in island that roads are shown in an ebb tide. At the ebb tide, you can see the road to across. Like Moses who experienced a miracle that Red Sea had been separated, you can experience the road of sea separated with your family.
Daeijak Island
Keunpulan and Jakeunpulan Beaches
Island residents call the island as Puldeung or Pulchi as it disappears during high tides. It is 990,000 squarekilometers of Sandy Island with the length of 2-km and width of 1.2-km. Sea and land horizons co-exist here. Will there be any other place like this?
Mirage over the sea, Puldeung
The island emerges for three to five hours during the ebb tide and disappears during high tides, and is called Puldeung or Pulchi by island residents. It is difficult to tell whether the time-limited island is land or sea. You can leisurely take a nap after spreading a towel under a parasol, facing the sea wind.
Mt. Buah
The elevated bridge around the mountaintop is 68-meter long and 7-meter wide, helping mountain hikers. The bridge commands the view of Saseungbong-do, Sandy Island and Gyenam branch school which served as a stage for movies and TV shows such as Island Village Teacher.
Finger Rock
Situated at the end of Witmokseom, Kunmaul, Soeejakdo, Finger Rock looks like the second finger pointing the sky. Hiking road leading to the Finger Rock is stretched to Congdol Beach with bean-size pebbles.
Soijak Island
Beolan Beach
It is located at the edge of Soijak Island. The beach, on a gentle slope in 300m of length and 20m of width, is well-balanced with groups of hackberries beside in an old village so it gives more restful mood. It is a popular attraction for summer visitors for picnic parties of companies and organizations as well as families.
Seungbong Island
Eille Beach
Surrounded by thick forests, the beach has a 150-room condominium, one and only condominium developed around the Yellow Sea, which provides a comfortable leisure space. In addition, it has several islands including Saseungbong-do, Sanggonggyeong- do, Hagonggyeong-do, Geumdo and Seongap-do. Seafishing and magnificent natural sceneries are serving as an attraction to this comprehensive vacation area.
Hidden Paradise, Saseungbong-do Island
There is a fantastic island called ‘Saseungbong-do’ right in front of Seungbong-do Island. Also known as ‘Sa-do (Sand Island).’ Right behind the beach, there is grass land of beach peas growing up through sand beds. This tiny island becomes a large sand field at low tide, showing bottom part of the reef that has been hidden in side the sea. When tide gets to the lowest point, about 1km of sand field shows itself on the surface.
Hollow spaces between the reefs become blue lake, and remaining water that has not been flown off becomes thousands of streamlets. The beach offers fantastic view with graceful taste as Seagulls fly over. This uninhabited island is privately owned. Only one guard, a custodian, lives by himself with gentle sea beside him like Robinson Crusoe.
Spending a day or staying overnight (after getting permission from the owner) will give you an unforgettable memory.
Saseungbong-do Island’s snow-white sand beach with unstained densely wooded pine tree forest reminds of fabulous beach in the South Pacific.
Namdaemun Rock
The northern beach of Seungbong-do has an exquisite rock with a big hole in the middle looking like a gate. It also fits for fishing on the seaside rocks where you can catch a lot of matsubaras and green lings. Special products include turban shells, old coppers and shortnecked clams that can be easily found on the tideland. There are so many of those shellfishes that rocks are covered black with them and that sweeping a broom might be enough to catch them. At the eastern most part, deep pink sea briers bloom en masse and show how beautiful Seungbong-do is.
