It takes around 4~5 hours from the passenger terminal of Incheon International Port to Baengnyeong-do with high-speed ferries which stops over at Socheong-do and Daecheongdo on its way. Fair is KRW 55,900. The island has village buses, private taxes, travel agencies and car rentals.

Baengnyeong
Sagot Beach
Landing at the Yonggipo port of Baengnyeong-do after sailing through waves will enable you to meet Sagot Beach on your left, one of the island’s special sites. The diatomite beach is the world’s only natural airfield where airplanes can take off and land if necessary. The beach is so hard that even a vehicle running at its highest speed cannot leave a trace.
Condol Beach
To the Southwest, you can see a 2-km long Condol Beach covered with beansize pebbles with various colors. Pebble sauna at the beach is gaining popularity for it is known to be fairly effective for malicious dermatitis.
Dumujin
The seashore consists of rocks jutting towards the sky. It gained its name, Dumujin (a combination of Chinese characters where ‘Du’ means heads, and ‘Mu’ means warriors and Jin means a ferry), as it looked like brave generals putting their heads together at a meeting.
Elephant Rock
Standing towards the sea in a row are exotic-looking rocks including Seondaeam looking like a column weathered by sea wind and waves and Elephant rock.
Enjoying the charm between the rocks is recommendable and seeing them from the sea on a ship is also magnificent. The sound of tides hitting the exotic cliff adds more charm.

You can see Jangsan cape and Indangsu beyond the monument.
Simcheong Pavilion
Baengnyeong-do is the stage for the Story of Simcheong. Jinchon-ri, Baengnyeong-myeon, has a 360 square meters of Simcheong Pavilion. From the Pavilion, you can overlook Indangsu where Simcheong jumped into the sea to return sight to her blind father. The Pavilion also has albums, movie scripts and models of Shimcheongjeon and commending the view of Jangsan Cape in North Korea that is why so many tourists visit the site.
Junghwadong Church and Christian History Center
In 1832, Karl F.A.Gutzlaff set foot on the land of Chosun Dynasty for the first time as a Christianity missionary. He was an interpreter and doctor on a trade ship of the East India Company, sent by London Missionary. In 1898, army officer with special expertise, Deuk Heo, set up the Junghwadong Church in a private school in collaboration with Seong-jin Kim, Hakseong Hwang and Ji-yeong Jang who were sent into exile to the island.

Hwadong Salt Field
Baengnyeong-do’s only sun-evaporated salt field. Mainly they are salted and fermented for source.
Badayeo and Seal rocks
On the beach behind Jinchon-ri, you can find the habitat of seals also known as “Badayeo.” It is known that there live about 300 seals. Those seals playing with seagulls flying over the sea surface add amazement as well as pleasure to bystanders. In Baengnyeong-do, you can also see rare birds such as swinhoes, comorants, black-tailed gulls and egrets.

Many places in the island got their name from the forklore: Jungwhadong where Simcheong grows up is in Yeonhwa 1-ri and Jangchon where Paengdeok mom lived is the village right next to Yeonhwa 1-ri. In addition, Indangsu where Simcheong threw herself into the sea after being sold to Chinese merchants for 300 sacks of rice is the sea right in front of Dumujin, Baengnyeongdo. The name, Yeonhwari, is from the lotus with which Simcheong resurrects from the sea. Nowadays, if you visit Yeonhwa-ri, you can see lotus growing enmasse.
